Conference on Past and Prospective Energy Transitions: Insights from experience
A major conference on ‘Past and Prospective Energy Transitions’ was held in Cardiff on 18-20
April 2011. The Conference was organized by Prof. Peter Pearson, together with Dr Roger
Fouquet and in collaboration with the UK Energy Research Centre Meeting Place (UKERC) and
Energy Security Theme. This brought together economic historians and energy economists and provided
valuable insights that will inform the further work of the historical analysis theme and the second
iteration of the pathways.
